In 1988, Team was preparing to release The Music’s Got Me, which was the debut single from a new project that featured La-Dell Jones and Milton Patterson. They had written, arranged and produced The Music’s Got Me at a local studio.
This was Star Trax Recording where Team joined forces with vocalist Pimp and engineer Steve Spapperi. He and DJ and producer Matt Warren who owned and ran AKA Dance Music mixed the four tracks. These tracks became The Music’s Got Me (Radio Mix), The Music’s Got Me (Club Mix), The Music’s Got Me (Dub Mix) and The Music’s Got Me (Drum-A-Pella). After this, the single was mastered at Trutone Mastering Labs, and now, The Music’s Got Me, which featured the catalogue number AKA-6 was ready to release.
Team’s debut single was released later in 1988, and featured the Dub Mix which shows another side The Music’s Got Me, and thirty years later, has stood the test of time.
