Industrial rock band Die Warzau were founded in 1987, and by 1994, had already released two albums. When the time came to begin work on their third album Engine in 1994, Die Warzau needed someone to do some programming on the album. This resulted in Chicago-basded DJ, producer and remixer Matt Warren being asked to join Die Warzau in the studio.
What started out as doing some programming on Engine resulted in Matt cowrote two tracks and showcased his turntable skills. When the album was completed, Engine was released in 1994, and found favour with critics and boosted Die Warzau’s career
For Matt this was just the latest project the Chicago House pioneer had worked on. Die Warzau’s third album Engine was one of their finest albums, and reminder of a group who made ambitious and innovative music.
