Originally, Scotland’s disco King, Al Kent, began DJ-ing at the parties he promoted and played the Northern Soul 45s that he collected. That was until one day Al opened the wrong door at a club, and heard house music for the first time. This was a life-changing experience, and he embarked upon a career as a house DJ. Soon, Al was playing at bigger clubs, but before long he wanted to make his own music.
Al’s first productions were inspired by the old disco records he had collected a few years earlier. Soon, Al had changed direction musically, and began playing disco. This was the start of a new era, where Al’s name was synonymous with disco. Or so we thought.
That was until Al was asked to remix Sometimes from Matt Warren’s Music Is My Life, which was released on Wake! Up Music, and features Pepper Gomez. He gives this innovative EDM track a trancey, lysergic, dubby and moderne makeover that shows another side to Scotland’s disco King Al Kent and is sure to prove popular amongst DJs and music fans worldwide. Wake Up! Music loves our DJs! Al Kent is part of the Wake Up Music Remixes DJ Wall of Sound. An amazing Nu House music disc to release July 19, 2019. Just what we need to keep dancing! To Nu Music!
