Ralph Rosario-Wake Up Music Group, Grammy Nominations with Rihanna and Future Moves…

Thank you for being part of our zine.  Tell us more about your beginnings in the industry!

RR: My pleasure.  It pretty much all began for me in 1979. Back then, I was working and  playing disco music during the breaks for a band my brothers were in. They played salsa  music at gigs and  for a few weddings and various functions and I was the DJ they used. I was around 13 or 14 years old. Little did I know that I’d still be DJ-ing forty years later.

Where are you located now and where are you originally from?

RR: Originally from Chicago, and still live in the area, just further away from actual city.

Goals for 2019 and beyond?

RR: Setting up already for 2020 which is going to be a big yearn for me, and for Craig J Snider my production partner.    I’m very excited about our project with Wake Up! Music. It’s  an album that has been six years in the making, and features a cast of guest artists. It’s a really exciting project and with playing live and DJ-in, there’s lots of exciting stuff happening during  2020.

What have been the specific challenges in your career so far?  What have been the greatest achievements so far?

RR:Only minor challenges have been balancing the touring with sitting at home and diving into production work. My greatest achievement thus far, Has been the great Grammy nomination for my remix work on Rihanna’s ‘Only Girl In The World’.

Where can our readers catch up with you out there soon?

RR: Social media is definitely  playing a larger role in keeping up with me at:

Please answer the following… “If my fans really knew me,  they would know that… ”

RR: I’ve been doing my own thing for three decades, and I’m extremely content with my own progress.

Who are your top inspirations?

RR:  David Morales; Eric Kupper; Mark Knight.

Having accomplished so much in your career, are there more dreams you hope to conquer?

RR: Yes, plenty! Eventually moving onto bigger and long lasting ventures. More producing; more music; more original works.

Any words of wisdom for your fans out there?
RR; Don’t quit your day job. This business of music is not for the everyone. Some people think you can just add water and stir.   hat’s called ‘Watered down’.. Stay true to your craft, but ALWAYS have something to fall back on.
